Unable to access Gibbon outside of school

Hello all and thanks in advance for your help.

We’ve been running Gibbon for the last year at our school using a local server. Prior to the new school year, we backed everything up, rolled over, and then there was a problem with the server itself that required a few days’ to reboot not only Gibbon but our school Gmail access.

Now we are able to use Gibbon at school using the school’s computers, but we are unable to access it through phones (using data) or outside of school when not on the local network.

This was not the case last school year, so I’m hoping it’s just some settings that were mistakenly reset.

Is there an easy fix for this?

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Sergio,

There are no settings in Gibbon that control scope of access, and so most likely this is a firewall and/or network configuration issue on your side. Perhaps the newly setup server has a new IP address, and this has not made it into the firewall in the same way that the old one was.

Hope this helps!

Ross
