Two level school

Hi, I’m starting to configure a gibbon site for a school that has elementary in the morning and secondary in the afternoon. Of course the terms and qualification system is different. Since there are families with kids on both levels and kids on the last elementary level can roll up to the first secondary one , the logical path would be to have all in one site without duplicating families, and in this case students.
1.Can Gibbon handle this scenario?
2. We have each year group separated in 2 or 3 according the amount of students. (ie 1A & 1B, 2A & 2B & 2C, etc) Can Gibbon handle this scenario?

Thanks

Hi @slipperyman

  1. Gibbon uses one set of terms (e.g. Term 1, Term 2, Term 3) for any given school year in a school. If the elementary and secondary schools have different term structures and different school start and end times, I’m afraid you’ll have to use two separate Gibbon sites. I understand this would mean duplicating families. But there are ways you can work around this.

  2. Yes Gibbon can split students in a given year group into smaller groups of students as you describe, using Form Groups/Home Rooms.

I hope this helps.
