Timetable chooser

Hi Ross,

I am just wondering why I am not able to see my timetable in admin role even when I click on timetable chooser but I am able to see the timetable of a year group as a teacher?
Your assistance is greatly appreciated

Willpro, that is an interesting question, and there are quite a few possible causes. Is it possible for to let me know what version of Gibbon you are using, and also to give me access to a copy of your database (Dropbox?) so I can try and replicate the issue here.

One quick question is whether you, as an admin, are assigned any classes in a TT?

Ross

Now that you mention that. How do I assign my self(admin) to classes?  Do I assign myself as a teacher to all classes in the school or am I able to view automatically with admin privileges once the classes have TT

Willpro,

You can assign yourself to classes under Admin > Timetable Admin in the main menu, and then Course Enrolment by Person in the module menu.

I would not advise you add yourself to every class, as it will be impossible to view anything. Instead, your best bet is to go to Learn > Timetable in the main menu, and then View Master Timetable in the module menu, for a view of all lessons going on.

I will hold on to your data (that you emailed to me) in case the suggestions above do not work for you, and we need to try something else.

Thanks,

Ross

HI Ross,

I am able to view timetable from the master view but what is the default view for system admin home page?

I am seeing the following: Is that the default view?

“MyTimetable”  which is blank and have only the dates  & “Timetable Chooser”. When i click on  Timetable Chooser   it carries me to a blank timetable  although i can view the time table from master view.

Willpro,

Looking at this it seems that your timetable does not have columns, or that you have not tied days to dates. Can you take a look at these two areas and make sure you have populated them? Columns are reusable day structures, which are then used when you define the days in your timetable (e.g. Day 1, Day 2, etc or Monday, Tuesday, etc). Once you have days in your timetable, you can add classes to particular time slots (what we can rows). With this done, you can tie particular TT days to calendar days, at which point your day structure and classes should show up in your TT.

If, as an admin, you have no classes, you should still see the column structures in the timetable.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Ross

Ross, I am confused.

Logging as a teacher the timetable is displayed. But as an admin (no classes), I am still seeing as was shown.

Willpro, that is odd, and not how I recall it being set up. Can you just add yourself to a class in one of the TTs, and see what happens? Ross

Ross, I add myself to a class as a teacher and i see the timetable shows

Willpro,

I have had a look at the timetable data you shared, and I can’t tell right now if it is a code or data issue. Last time I tried this with data I know is good, it did work, but that was a couple of versions ago.

One problem is that the Year 3 TT has no days set, and I wonder if this is an issue? The 3 Primary\\\'s Timetable name might be causing an issue, with all the back slashes…and the fact that the days in it are quite confused.

Can you try and resolve these issues, and then share your data with me again?

Thanks,

Ross

Willpro,

OK, I have tested TT switcher with some good data, and I am not seeing any code issues…so I think it is a data issue in how you have set up your TT. Check out the suggestions above, and let me know how you get on.

Ross

Ok, thanks Ross
