Does the Gibbon system support the following features? If yes, please explain how. If not, may we request that support be added:
Teachers & Students Registers
Teacher attendance registers that include dates and time stamps.
Integration with biometric systems (fingerprint, face recognition, or card scanners).
Automatic calculation of staff attendance in terms of days/hours worked (weekly, monthly, yearly).
Student registers integrated with gate access control (cards/fingerprints) to automatically mark attendance.
Hi @itadmin Gibbon does not support these features. The developers of Gibbon believe that attendance is a human process, where a teacher welcomes their students and personally looks to see that they are present. Tracking staff and students automatically with scanning and biometrics conflicts with this core ethos of Gibbon.
Since it is open source software, any school would be welcome to create a custom module that supports this functionality for their own needs. Since every card scanner system has it’s own method or API for accessing data, a school would likely need a developer to create a module that interfaces with the exact system that their school is using.
