It would be good for the school administrator to have more assistance regarding staff management, e.g. in connection with leaves, attendance, salary, payslips, type of employment (temp, full, partial), staff admission, staff disciplinary records, etc.
What has been done in this regard so far? Are there any plans?
This is on the cards for v12, but most likely we will be looking to add a professional development record and online job application.
For the fields you are interest in, you could try custom user fields, which is new to v11. See for https://gibbonedu.org/support/administrators/custom-fields/ for more details. Otherwise, we could look to work them into the plan for v13.

What about the finance module where we have staff related expenses like salaries? How can I create a monthly pay slips with calculations for tax and social security?
That is a good question, and not currently possible, in an automated fashion. I will keep this in mind for future development, but keep in mind, we are a tiny team trying to do big things, and we can’t implement every feature. If you wanted to find a developer willing to contribute, we can support them with knowledge.
