Silly Logo Question

Ross:
I followed the suggestion about the logo size, must be 400 x 100 pixels, but the logo appears too wide, have a look at:
https://gibbonedu.colegiomaya.edu.sv/
I tried with other sizes, nothing works, can you tell me what to do?

Can you email the original logo to support@gibbonedu.org and I’ll see what I can do? Thanks.

Thanks Ross for your answer saying:
The trick is to shrink the image down so the height is 100px (actually, I did to 90px to leave a border above and below, but this might not be needed), and then add extra canvas to the width, rather than stretching it.

Thanks Ross, now I understand the trick.
But, Why changes are not visible instantaneously?, I mean, I had to wait several minutes to see changes in the logo image…
Thanks

And the Ross answer was:
I guess it was cached by your browser !!

Thanks Ross, you were right !!.

Hi Imhim, rather than stretching the logo out, the best bet would be to add blank space on the right of the logo, in order to keep the proportions of the actual logo itself. If you can’t work out how to do that, post the original logo here and I’ll have a go for you.

I use Acorn to do this, but it is Mac only. The open source software GIMP runs on all platforms, and can do this too.

Hi Ross:
l am not sure if l am able to add the blank space, here is the logo

This is the original logo

Hi Imhim, the original logo looks good. Rather than changing the size of this logo to 400 x 100, you’ll need to create a new 400 x 100 image in a graphic program (as mentioned above) and then keep the aspect ratio of your logo the same as you scale it to fit inside the image. Doing this will leave a blank white space on the right side of your image.

Okay thank you a lot Sandra, l am gonna do that

Hi Imhim, please try this version of the logo:

Thanks : )

thanks a lot Ross its now perfect
