Hi Ross, 

Is there a way to add our own rubrics instead of the defined rubrics or a column in markbook to define the keys to attainment?

Willpro,

Yes, if you look under Assess > Rubrics in the main menu, you can add your own rubrics.

To adjust the grading scales (which are what you select for attainment and effort), you can do this under Admin > School Admin in the main menu and then Manage Grade Scales in the module menu (right hand side).
