Portuguese (Portugal) translation

Hi there!

Starting a new discussion for the Portuguese (Portugal) translation, as suggested by Ross. Looking at the current translation, there are some inconsitencies in the adopted terms, namely “class” and “lesson” being translated to “aula” and in some cases to “disciplina”. In my opinion, we should come up with a system to make the translation more consistent.

Also, are we adopting AO90 or not? “Acção” or “ação”?

Also also, how can all the translators be aware of this discussion?

Would be great if PT_pt would be shipped with the November 20th release of v28.

Thanks in advance!

Also, more food for thought:

  • password (password, senha, palavra-passe?)
  • aluno(s) (estudante(s) is more inclusive)
  • course, form group and class (curso/turma, disciplina?)
  • capitalization of words
  • Portuguese school system doesn’t have GSCE, we have Provas de Aferição, Provas Globais and PAA; do we need implementation?

Thanks @jorge for your work on this, I wish I could offer more specific help, but I’d say use your best judgement with what makes sense to you. Much appreciated!

I think something like GCSE can be left untranslated in this case, as changing the name would change the meaning, and schools can add their own assessments as needed.
