I was able to familiarize myself with timetabling in Gibbon.
I’m facing the following challenge and I wanted to have your opinion on this.
How do I handle a change of timetable from one term to the next. I tried to create a new timetable by deactivating the old one but this disables access to historic timetabling, right?
Do I have to create new timetable days, e.g. for term2: MO_T2, DI_T2, etc. inside the current timetable?
Roman, this is one I have not encountered before, but I think your approach of creating different days in the same timetable, and then tieing them to days term by term (Admin > Timetable Admin > Tie Days To Dates) is most likely the way to do it. Let us know if you have any further questions! Ross.
Some schools divide the curriculum into modules causing even more frequent timetable changes e.g. every 1-2 months. Could this cause problems using Gibbon?
Roman, no you can define a range of days in your timetable (e.g. Monday August/September, Monday October/November, etc), and then simply tie the relevant day to the relevant date. Should work fine I think. Ross.
