Newbie here. I’m in charge of setting up the system for our school.
I’m trying to setup multiple campus (we have two, in different cities) using one install of the system and am wondering if I’m doing the right thing here:
create multiple school year
Create multiple timetable
create multiple year groups
Tie Days to dates?
Is that correct steps so far? Or am I way off? Let me know, thank you
At this time Gibbon does not support multiple schools in the same install, you can read more about it here: https://ask.gibbonedu.org/discussion/comment/4443 There are many wide-sweeping changes that would need to be made to the system before this would be possible. At the moment the highest priority for development is modernizing the codebase with a focus on maintainability, stability and continued flexibility.
Your best bet for separate schools, particularly if they’re in different cities, is to setup one install for each school. This can still be done on the same server provided they’re installed in separate folders with different databases. Be sure to check out the docs: https://docs.gibbonedu.org/administrators/getting-started/getting-started-with-gibbon/
Hope this helps! Give a shout if you have any questions.
Thanks Sandra! I did read the info but I was just wondering if there’s a quick workaround on that.
I will suggest that to the “computer gods” and hopefully they’d be able to have another server for us ready before the new year starts (yes, I realized Sept is just around the corner lol)
Hi Simon, welcome to the Gibbon community
