Markbooks and reports

Hello, I would appreciate if someone could show me step by step how to create a markbook with a number of columns, as per the picture below.

I have looked through your documentation and the forum, but I haven’t found a topic that would address it clearly or be up-to-date. I believe Gibbon is constantly changing . Apologies, I haven’t used such a program before, so I find it all a bit confusing. We teach several secular subjects to little monks in Nepal and would like to track their progress in a more streamlined way. We submit reports twice a year in which we present their total scores and improvement as seen in the column L and M. From what I saw on the forum, such reports would have to be created separately? I have managed to set up basic profiles, classes, courses, school-year and a grading system. It would be very helpful if there were more tutorials or documentation on the topic available for the dummies. Thank you for your work!

A correction. I have managaed to create a markbook that looks similar to this but I am unable to create an internal assesment which would look like it. Students don’t seem to be linked to markbook entries? I could not edit nor delete the above post for some reason…

Hi @Dechen Great to hear you’re getting up and running with Gibbon for your school and have been figuring out the markbook. This area (rather than internal assessment) would be the place to achieve what you’re looking for. Be sure to add students to your class and you will see them show up in the markbook, and in School Admin > Markbook Settings you can enable weightings to help calculate your overall grade.

Thanks for your feedback about the documentation. As a small team of volunteers, it is unfortunately one of our weak areas, as we’re short on capacity. I’ve recently updated the docs website to hopefully make it easier to find things and for people to contribute to the documentation, and ideally things will continue to improve in this area.
