Is there a better way to multi-select students belonging to a particular year group or form group? The current Invoicees field in Home > Finance > Manage Invoices > Add Fees & Invoices lists all the students multiple times (By homeroom, By alphabet, By class). The list becomes very long and it is easy to miss someone. This is very inefficient. Can there be separate multi-select fields (similar to Moodle, where you can select multiple students, cohorts, or combination of both) for Student (ordered by name), Homeroom, Class, Year group, and allow to choose any combination between them to select students in bulk?
Is there any other way of selecting students for invoicing in bulk?
Just to give you an idea, this is how bulk selection looks in Moodle. When The list of students is 100+, you have to start typing the name for the matching list to show up.
Hi @arman thank you for your feedback and suggestions. As luck would have it, the upcoming version v31 includes updates to the UI for selects and dropdowns in Gibbon. We have already refactored all the long dropdowns to be searchable by default, and the multi-selects are also getting an update to make them searchable and easier to use. Keep an eye out for these improvements in the next release.
Hey @sandra , that is fantastic! I would like to make sure our billing department has an easy way to select all the students within a home room without the risk of missing somebody. Here is the reason behind it:
Our adult students have the ability to sign up for a school year/program and either make a single payment upfront with discount or pay in installments. We have added a custom field to their profile where they specify their choice when submitting their application. We weren’t able to figure out how to select all the students with a specific value in that custom field in order to invoice them. So the way we figured, in order to keep track who needs to be billed when, to create two separate home rooms for the same program - one for single payment and another for installments and bill everyone in the home room accordingly. I’m interested to know if there is a better way to setup this separation and be able to select and create invoices to all the students who have selected let’s say full payment in their custom field.
