Inquiry Regarding Gmail Sending Limit Issue in Gibbon

Dear Support Team,

I received this message from Gmail:
“Email ID has exceeded the Gmail sending limit by sending too many messages.”
Because of this, users have to wait up to 11 hours before they can send emails again.

Is there a way in Gibbon (through settings or coding) to use different email IDs for different grades? This would help avoid hitting the sending limit.

Please let me know if this is possible.

You can use third-party SMTP platforms for testing, such as Mailgun. These platforms can better provide sending reports, email management, user credentials, and are user-friendly (optional support for unsubscribe).

Hi @vishalr, are you using Google Workspace for Education, or a single Gmail account for your SMTP relay? The Google Workspace sending limits are much higher than a single account, this may help. Also, be sure to check the docs about sending with Gmail SMTP, as this past year Google has heavily restricted how it can be used: SMTP Email | Gibbon Documentation

Thanks, @Sandra.

We are using Google Workspace and have created an App password, which we updated in the Gibbon settings.

Most of our communication happens via the Gibbon ERP. Sometimes, when we send emails to all students, we encounter issues. If possible, setting up grade-wise emails could resolve most of these problems.
