How to create different classes for different school year

Does gibbon create different classesfor different school year. Or it uses one timetable for all the school year.
I want different school year to have its own classes but the same time structure with other school year. Do that if a pupil of primary log to.his dashboard he will only see classes specific to his school year.

Because what i am seeing from the time table i set up a primary 6 pupil when he log to his dashboard will see a timetable with classes for primary 1.

How can i achieve it.

Hello Again! In Gibbon all classes belong to courses, and courses are specific to school years. So, for example, the course SC10 (Year 10 Science) might belong to the school year 2020-21. It might have classes 1, 2 and 3, which can then be expressed as SC10.1, SC10.2, etc.

Courses need to recreated in each year, and students enroled in them. Gibbon has tools built into Timetable Admin to help with this.

This is what i actually meant.

Gibbon’s courses (to which classes belong) can be tied to one or more year groups. So, for example, you might have Year 6 Science, tied only to Year 6. You you might have Lower School English, tied to Years 1, 2 and 3. This is all set under Admin > Timetable Admin > Manage Courses & Classes.

Likewise, when you create or edit a timetable (Admin > Timetable Admin > Manage Timetables) you can link the timetable to one or more year groups. Classes in those courses whose year groups overlap with the timetable’s year group can then be included into that timetable.

In this way you can use one timetable, with one structure, to which multiple year groups belong. But, set up correctly, your Year 6 students ought not see a Year 1 class in their timetable.
