I have installed the Higher education module and it appears to be functioning, I have a list of universities and colleges, I have added a couple, but that is where it appears to end. There are no links or places to add links to the universities websites or application?
Perhaps i am missing something, any guidance or pointing me in the right direction is appreciated. We have our own college we are directly associated with and I would like to start integrating it into the system for our students, as I would also like to open other doors for through this module too!
Thanks for your inquiry. Can you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing in the HE module, so I can take a look, and see if you have the right actions? Also, if you check Admin > User Admin > Manage Permissions, you should so the actions that belong to the module, and see if anything is turned off for your role.
One of the quirks is that you can see certain actions, but not use them (even if they are turned on), until you are listed under Manage Staff within the HE module. Could this be the issue?
Thank you for your reply, I apologize for not answering sooner. I was having an issue with my php.ini file I wanted to resolve before moving forward, I wanted to to resolve this first and I have.
I still proceed any further with the Higher Education module or perhaps I do not understand what the module is supposed to do. I will work to post some screen shots tomorrow, with more details.
I have a list of universities and colleges, I can add colleges to this list. I have a list of majors and i can add to that also. I see that i can write references for students and view reference requests, but I thought there was more to do with the student application process for universities and colleges added to the system? I see no place to add links to the websites or application for colleges on my list.
No worries on the timing: I am sure you are busy, and I am happy to reply as and when needed!
The module has two main purposes a) to allow students to record their university applications so they can be guided by school staff and b) to allow students to request references for use in the university application process.
The system does not provide links for students to universities (e.g. it is not a resource for them to research unis), but once they know where they will apply, they can draft and share progress in Gibbon.
It would be great to develop it as a resource for students to use, but this has not been possible given our resources.
