Hello Gibbon community. We’re well underway with the full system test for v29, with a scheduled release date of May 20th. If there are any bugs or known issues that you’ve encountered that haven’t been resolved (or you’re not sure), can you please quickly post here with a link to the issue? Many issues have been solved (the CHANGELOG is here), but it’s been a busy 6 months, so if there’s something that you’d like to check for v29, please post it in this thread. Feature requests will wait until v30, we’ve already done a feature freeze for this version. Thanks!
Hi @sandra,
This is a lot of great work—thank you! I’m currently working my way through some of the CHANGELOG updates.
I noticed this item:
- Markbook: added an option to color-code markbook columns in the teacher view
In the future, will it be possible to import the markbook column colors via the DataStructure-markbookColumns.xlsx
file?
Thanks again!
Hi Tieku, thanks for the positive feedback. Good question, I’ve just made this change in v29 and have added columnColor to the Markbook Column import: System Admin: add columnColor to Markbook Column importer, enable col… · GibbonEdu/core@e567eba · GitHub
Thanks Sandra. And I do like the improved color picker with the pre-set color palette.
Hi Sandra, Thanks for the great update, and hats off for the efforts.
1- Is there any way to see attendance for students that have left the school?
currently I have to do it via a query, or enroll them back to see it since they do not show as a student profile any more.
2- Attendance by date limits us to get reports for 6 months max, is there a reason for this limit, can it be removed to fit the entire school year?
3- Is there any way to limit teachers to only see attendance of their classes, rather than being able to see all, we have teachers that are students at the same time, we want to prevent a user with (student rule & teacher rule) from seeing classes he is not a teacher in, and only see classes that he teaches.
Some thoughts i would like to know the possibility of executing them.
Thanks you again.
Amazing work @sandra and the development team.
Something I noticed:
Historical date on student profile when start day of the week(first day of the week) is set to Saturday. Has mixed up date labels. Screenshot:
Saturday, Monday…(Not in order)
Hi Sandra, this is an issue that just came up today:
Module: Finance
- Invoice was created in Finance module and issued to all students.
- A student made a direct payment without using the Pay Now link in the Invoice email.
- The invoice status was manually updated to “Paid Partial” to credit the student’s payment.
- Updated invoice was sent out again using the Reminder feature.
- When student clicked the Pay Now link, they get the following error message
“The selected record does not exist, or you do not have access to it.”
I had the student forward the email to me and I get the same error message.
Not a priority issue for me, but figured it’s worth noting here.
Wish List Item:
After issuing invoices, I’m unable to send a reminder before the Due Date.
We send out invoices 15 days before they are due. It would be helpful to send out a manual or automatic reminder a few days before the due date.
Hello, I would greatly appreciate if you could add the ability to export all admissions applications to a spreadsheet at once in the upcoming version.
Historical date on student profile when start day of the week(first day of the week) is set to Saturday
Thanks for the heads up! This has just been fixed in v29: Attendance: fixed order of days in Student History when first day of … · GibbonEdu/core@37be47b · GitHub
Hi @nathan, this would indeed be a useful function to have, I’ve added this request to our Development Roadmap under Features.
Thank you @DrakonPrime, I’ve just added a fix to v29 which fixes online payments for partially paid invoices: Finance: fixed online payment for invoices with a Paid - Partial status · GibbonEdu/core@6405690 · GitHub
I’ve added reminders before the due date to the Development Roadmap under Features. The whole finance module is due for some updates and refactoring over the next version or two as well, especially the invoice design and email messages.
Yes, be sure to use the All Students checkbox from the View Student Profiles page and you can view profiles for left students, without needing to re-enrol them. You can also use the school year switcher to go back and view their profile for a certain school year, to look up their past attendance history.
Generally, the design of Gibbon is that teachers can collaborate and help share or cover classes as needed, without restrictions. However, I can add this to our Development Roadmap, and if we have time and capacity we and look to add this as an additional permission.
