Display of Student, Teachers and Staff names

Hi All,

Could you please help us update the naming display for Students, Teachers, and Staff? We would like the names to be displayed in the format: FirstName + Surname.

Your assistance in implementing this change would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @bichappa Currently only teacher and staff names can be customised in User Admin > Staff Settings, in the Name Formats section.

Student names are displayed as Surname, Preferred Name in areas of the system that are alphabetized by surname, and Preferred Name + Surname elsewhere. If you’d like to not use preferred names, you can set them to the same value as first names, to list students with First Name + Surname.

Can you please share the steps from where we can change display name for the list Students.

Following Sandra’s suggestion, if you want to set the preferred names to the same value as the first names you can do this in User Admin. Go to “Manage Users” and click on “Edit” and you should be able to update the preferred name to their first name. Hope that helps.
