Cannot use SMTP for reset password and send email

Hello Ross,

I tried to clink there, nothing else information.

One thing I want to confirm with you, I had never received the mail when filled in the receiver email address in the "reply to " blank while login that email.

Scroll down to here, and select the staff (myself), and the mail could actually send out, unfortunately, those emails will be in spam.

Thanks

Hi Butters,

What kind of targets have you chosen when sending the email out?

The reply-to address only takes effect when you reply to a received email: the response should then go to the Reply To address, not the Email From address. What address to you see?

In terms of email being marked as spam, you may need some addition email or DNS settings outside of Gibbon to reduce the chances of this happening, but it is always a risk with bulk email. Genuine, non-testing content also helps!

Ross

It is a very complicated problem but it does seem to be outside Gibbon.

Just to be clear, the “reply to” email address will not receive a copy of the email. That is just setting the header for recipients so that that email shows up when choosing “reply” in the email client.

If the email is landing in spam it could be that the receiving server has some rules applied.

Hello Ross,

Thanks to the reply, looks like the spam will be another challenge for me. But it is okay, the function is going to be fine. But there is a new problem. When I finished the Application form for new students, I ticked on the "Automatically inform parents of their Gibbon login details by email? " The result of welcome email always noticed A welcome email could not be sent to *****. Any Ideas?

Kind regards,

Butters

Hi Butters, please can you post this as a separate thread, and we’ll reply to that? this helps us keep the forum organised and searchable. Cheers, Ross.

Yes, I posted it. Sorry to cause any trouble for you. Cheers. Butters

No apology required Butters, it is all part of the work we do : ) I’ll try and follow up with your new request in the next day or two. Ross.
