Our school has classes for adults. Some meet during the day, others at nights, and a few on Saturdays. Some are at our facility, although most are at various locations around a 3 county area in North Carolina, USA. How do we cancel one or two class sessions when a facility is unavailable? If we make the day an exception in the Gibbon calendar, all classes for that day and night at all locations are cancelled. If we leave it, we have to mark the students absent or just not record attendance which makes other reports look like an error. Even if we were a typical school, we would need to have some way to remove one particular class from meeting that one day. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!
Hi GlennS,
I don’t believe there is currently a way to cancel just one class at a time. Leaving the attendance unrecorded should help, as it will count as neither present or absent for that class.
If you happen to use the Google Calendar integration you could add an event that overlaps this timeframe to state that this class is cancelled, which at least would help for anyone looking at the timetable.
Thanks, Sandra. That’s what we will do. Please consider adding this feature to a future edition. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP and, along with Ross, your great software.
Hi Glenn, we’ll keep it in mind as an idea for future development. In the meantime, thanks for your kind words, and welcome to the Gibbon community : )
