Adding new spoken language

hi,

i think this is not related to translation, but could not figure out where to post. if i want to add a new spoken language, where can i add it? this is required if i make an application form and request spoken language. do i need to go on a OS level or there is an admin feature for this ?

Hello,

The solution isn’t very straightforward, but I installed phpMyAdmin on my server, found the table that contained the languages, and added an entry for the language I needed.

thanks, installing phpmyadmin should be straight forward. i will try to search for the table that hold the list. if you happen to remember that will be great. i will try to do this o a test database first just incase

i parked the idea of adding for now to avoid playing with database at this stage of setting up the school as we are still learning Gobbon.

Hi @alkindy If you let us know the language that is missing, we can add it to the gibbonLanguage table for next version of Gibbon.

thank you Sandra, that will be good for the future releases. here is an extract of the language from wikipedia:

Balochi (بلۏچی, romanized: Balòci) is a Northwestern Iranian language, spoken primarily in the Balochistan region of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. In addition, there are speakers in Oman, the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, Turkmenistan, East Africa and in diaspora communities in other parts of the world.[3] The total number of speakers, according to Ethnologue, is 8.8 million.[1] Of these, 6.28 million are in Pakistan.[4]
