Adding currency type that are not already included in the core system

Hi Lee, thanks for your kind words…and it is a pleasure to be able to share Gibbon with you.

Unless I’ve made a mistake of some kind, I think you’ll find that your currency is already included in Gibbon:

This is listed in the second section of currencies, below those that work with PayPal.

Let me know if this helps : )

Ross

Hello Ross,
Thank you for your response. It is true that the Central African Francs (FCFA) is available in the system but it is different from the West African Francs (FCFA) whose ISO code is XOF which is different from Central African Francs one which is XAF. In republic of Benin, we used the West African Francs (FCFA) so please help me to add it to the system.

Thank you

Hi Lee, thanks for clarifying. I’ve added West African Francs (FCFA) in the commit linked below. You can take the newly added line in FormFactory.php and add it into a v15 installation and it should work fine:

https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/d39b68e48495dad50ffd972506cf87cbd428e3e5

Cheers,

Ross

Hi Admin, First of all I’d like to thank you for making gibbon available for everyone!!
I’m starting to use your software in Guatemala Central America, and I’d appreciate if you can add the Quetzal currency to the installation.
The currency abreviation is: Q.

Hello aperezgt, thanks for your kind words, and welcome to the community : ) I’ve added the Guatemalan Quetzal to the v17 develop branch of Gibbon, as per the following commit:

https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/56d2e62cc65b3486edc276ead81196dab6b369a9

You can add the same change to the v16 version of the file and it should work fine, or you can wait for v17 to come out January 20th 2019. Thanks!

H Ross, Could you add the XCD (Estearn Caribbean Dollars) 7 islands use it…I setup my website with Jamaican one for now but wont work once I get my site live…
Much appreciated!
DidierBC, Antigua

Hi Didier,

Looks like Eastern Caribbean Dollars has already been added to our development version:

https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/66d634a69c3020d5462b544d99e4395155e2ca77#diff-60feff17cc731a687dfcddc554d5402a

You can make this the same change to the v16 version of src/Forms/FormFactory.php`. Otherwise, v17 will come out January 20th 2019. Thanks!

Thanks, Sandra. Since I am learning and have time I will wait for the January update! Thanks

Dear Admin,

Greetings,

May you please add Omani Rial (OMR) to the System.

King Regards,
Khalid Al Zadjali

Hi Khalid,

I’ve made the change in our v18 development branch. If you are running v17, you can take the changes made in the commit linked below, and replicate them in your own system:

https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/e8343418daf7848afd0648e3963f6bfd732e986a

Thanks!

Ross

Hello Ross,
Thank you for making gibbon available for everyone. I am from Maldives ( a small country in south Asia). We have started using this software recently. I’d appreciate if you can add the Maldives Currency ( Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) to the system.

Best Regards
Ahmed

Hi Ahmade, I dream of visiting the Maldives! Some of my friends worked there for 6 months, and came back with some wonderful memories.

I’ve added the MVR to the v19.0.00 branch, as per the commit below:

https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/792256c947dd6799f041a1e6c4960ca24db7c7f8

v19 will be released January 20th, 2020. However, if you want to use the currency now, you can duplicate the change in your own installation and it should work fine.

Cheers,

Ross

Dear Admin,

Could you please add Madagascar currency to the system? Here are the details:

Name: Malagasy Ariary
ISO 4217 Code: MGA
Symbol: Ar

Thank you,
Adelphe

Hi Adelphe,

Welcome to the Gibbon community : ) I’ve made the requested change in our v19.0.00 branch, as per the commit below:

https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/cf778113a53f5934365f4fccd5c0784d65b2c775

If you are using v18.0.01 or earlier, you can take the new line on 441 of /src/Forms/FormFactory.php, and add it to your own copy of that file, and it should work.

Thanks,

Ross

Thank you!!

Dear Admins:
Could you please add Argentine currency to the core system?

Name: Argentine peso
Code: ARS
Symbol: $

Hi stvwllms73,

Sure, I’ve added Argentine Peso to the development version v20. You can see the change here, and if you’d like to apply it back to your current version, be sure to make the same changes in your install. https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/f41faf931de17f39abaa65ba6fac4d51264fa89b

Thanks!

Dear Admins:
Could you please add Mozambique (MZN) currency to the core system?

Could you please add portuguese pt_PT language to the system too?

Hi cursors,

I’ve added MZN as a currency option to v22 (due for release on June 20th 2021), and you can see the change in the commit below:

https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/e580cdf3eaaf1d56e3688e09e8fdd46c9c54eeb4

You can replicate this change into the equivalent v21 file if you want to start using it now.

In terms of language, pt_PT is currently still in development. If you email us at support@gibbonedu.org I can add you to the language team. It is 58% complete: if you can get it to 75% or higher we will activate it.

Cheers,

Ross
