New Installation - Username and Password not created

Hi Team,
I installed v19 on Ubuntu. well after installation it came to installation screen 1, 2 and then error The directory containing the Gibbon files is not currently writable, or config.php already exists in the root folder and is not empty or is not writable, so the installer cannot proceed. I ran one of the command chmod 755 -R /var/www/gibbon after which i restarted apache and then whe i typed the url it took me straight to the login page without taking me to page 3 where admin username and password is created. How do I create an admin username and password

You may be better off starting the installation afresh instead of trying to fix it. :slight_smile:

:slight_smile: well i did now I am getting a blank screen when trying to access the site

I am goint to reset the instance and start once again.

Tried a new installation get the page Index of / when i access the site.

Seems like you didn’t actually do a new installation.

Could it be that you are using the old database? Either create a new one or delete the old one before starting with the new installation.

Also ensure to delete your old config.php file.

Checking your apache logs may also give you some pointers.
