Hi Ross, thanks for your prompt help online today. As discussed I am requesting the addition of a keyword search feature for the library function for the upcoming update. I have asked my staff to enter keywords for library items into the comments/notes box and I would love to be able to search for items using these keywords.
Thanks for considering this addition.
Thanks Ross, Will hand this over to the tech team and give it a try and let you know we go.
Thanks so much,
Sue
Sue,
OK, this one took a little time to work out how to implement, as we have not done search to this level before. It is now in v11, and the change is backwards compatible with v10. So, if you take the changed file from the commit linked below:
https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/a12882aa251cbcde4c03a470e9575ac17978bde0
And upload it to /modules/Library on your Gibbon install, you should see the new search, and it should work as it will in v11.
Let us know how you get on.
Ross
Sue,
No problem at all. Glad to help!
I have added your request as item 42 in the v11 todo list, which you can see at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v-5KnzbGxr9IyRdY_miq3jbSJx_UD5zZZujMkZXWdew/edit?usp=sharing
I will update this thread when the feature has been added, and all going to plan, you can update your v10 installation after v11 is released on January 20th 2016.
Thanks,
Ross
Hi Ross, Our tech team inserted the file you linked to, but I don’t think it’s been successful.
Sue,
It sounds from your description that you are looking in the Manage page, rather than the Browse Library page. In Browse, can you see a search box called All Fields?
Thanks,
Ross
