We are trying to move our IN plans over to gibbon. I have coded up an HTML template to match our paper based work, so that the tables can then just be filled in by our SENCo. I can’t find a away to set this as a default for new plans. At the moment we are just copy and pasting the HTML into the box and then filling in the tables.

Could someone please point me in the right direction for setting a tamplate, if it is even possible.

Pedley,

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the community. At the current moment, the way you are doing this is the only way to do it. However, we recognise that this would be a great feature, and so we have added it as item 38 in [Gibbon’s v13 todo list](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1acvT15qAMcdHDum_lPb_JAiQeqAduH4UQFEmZfs4Pak/edit#gid=0).

We will notify you via this thread once it is coded up in development. We can’t guarantee it will get built, due to time constraints, but we will do our best.

Thanks,

Ross

pedley, the requested feature has now been coded into the v13 dev branch, and can be seen in the following commit:

[https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/77ed8c061d4c6c13cfbd06e058245088798589da](https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/77ed8c061d4c6c13cfbd06e058245088798589da)

It is not backwards compatible with v12, so you will need to wait for v13 to come out on January 20th in order to use this feature.

Cheers,

Ross

Can anyone please explain how this works? How do we use a template such that the teachers only need to fill out the specific areas?

Hi @Harrometer In School Admin \> Individual Needs Settings, you can add and HTML template that is pre-filled into any new IN record. [As of v29](https://github.com/GibbonEdu/core/commit/c1f7f0a54fb035def2f86177b9ba863cdd0e1701), these settings have rich text editors making them easier to pre-fill with HTML.

Hello every one first I would like to show my gratitude for the work that has been done. As a volunteer to an organization that advocates for the disabled children we decided to adopt Gibbon to run and organise the school. The setup is very simple it is just like day care classes (9) but with individual needs. I would love to get an advance tips on how to handle such requirements related to individual needs so that the parents can benefit from this wonderful platform

Regards
Alkindy

Hi @alkindy be sure to check out the Individual Needs module and let us know if you have any questions. IN records now support custom fields, so have a look in System Admin \> Custom Fields if you need to extend the IN functionality with more data tracked.

just curious, what happen when you upgrade to new versions and your system have custom fields? is it a smooth upgrade or will need to do something extra to make it work ?

Hi @alkindy
Thanks for your question! If you’re using the built-in custom fields, the upgrade process should be smooth, and all your custom fields will be retained. However, if you have made changes directly to the core modules, those changes will be lost when you upgrade to a new version. In that case, you’ll need a method to preserve your customisations.

For more details, feel free to check out this documentation on **[Core Development](https://docs.gibbonedu.org/development/getting-started/core-development)**. I hope this helps!
