Hello,

I volunteer for a local football club and at the moment we use a modified Email Marketer to store all of our players details. We are hoping to move to a SIS so that we can provide our parents with report cards every two terms etcetera. If you could just answer the following questions it would be highly appreciated:

  1. Can you export a PDF of grades for parents as a report card?

  2. Can you put customisable demographic information on the enrolment form? i.e. Desired Football Position?

  3. Do all students roll over onto the following year or can you choose individually which ones do?

Thanks for posting to the forum. Below are some answers for you.

  1. This is possible, but you need to obtain a proprietary module to do it. Speak to Andy Statham at rapid36.com for a quotation. Another approach is to use Query Builder (needs a license from support@gibbonedu.org, and the license is currently free) to suck out Markbook data (where you could enter report information), which you then mail merge into a Word document, before converting to PDF. Harder, but free of cost.

  2. Not at current I am afraid. If you wanted to hire a programmer to code this, you could. If they worked with us on the design, then we could incorporate their work into the code base for others to use, and to allow you to upgrade to new versions without any problems. I will put it on my todo list to think about, but can’t make any promises right now, as resources are limited.

  3. There is a rollover process (under Admin > User Admin in the top menu), which by default will bump everyone up a year. However, before running the final process you can hold some people back, or push them further forward, at will.
