Badges

I’m getting this error on on the badges module MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Generator: POEditor.com Project-Id-Version: Gibbon Language: en Plural-Forms: nplurals=2; plural=(n != 1); *

Under the badges settings section. I want to create an honor’s roll badge. Can you help?

rprice1978, what is happening is that Gibbon is trying to translate an empty string. Obviously it should catch this error (and we will fix it), but most likely something that should be defined elsewhere is not. If you can provide us with a screenshot of where you are seeing this, we can give more detailed advise. Ross

I was using v13 module. I installed for V12 everything is ok

hello, i have just installed gibbon and everything is working fine. I am running it locally. I came accross the module “badges” and have downloaded it. I just want to ask, how do I use it? I tried copying the badges folder and putting it inside the modules directory. But it didnt do anything at the GUI. I couldnt see a badges button at the navigation header. Anyone can help me with this. Thank you.

Hello. You are most of the way there. After placing Badges in the /modules folder, head to Admin > System Admin > Manage Modules, and scroll to the bottom of the page. You’ll see the module in the section of modules waiting to be installed. Press the install button, and then it will appear under the Assess heading in the main menu. Cheers, Ross.

Hi Ross, thank you for the help. I was able to install it. Does this badges module also comes with a feature like when a student was able to complete a badge, he can generate and print a pdf or a certification?

I’m glad to hear that you got the issue resolved. Sadly this function does not exist, however, there is a similar function in the Free Learning module, and so perhaps you could port that over to Badges. If you were able to do this, we could release it as a new version. A single certificate with all badges listed my be of use to a range of schools.
