Andrew,
This is a good feature, although some schools have optional items on the invoice, and so they might not consider their to be a balance just because the invoiced and paid amounts are different. I think the way around this is to have a “Balance remaining?” option in the payment recording interface, so this can be used only when desirable. I have added this to the Gibbon v11 feature list (http://bit.ly/1QRFjTS), as item 36. I cannot promise that we can do it for v11, but we will do our best.
Thanks,
Ross
Thanks, Ross for quick response and putting my request to google docs,
yeah you’re idea also excellent " Balance reaming"
so no need to put extra bit information on bill like " Paid amount"
would you please consider this method.
if < tender amount > = less than total invoice amount then < subtract from tender > reaming amount still show unpaid amount .
if < total invoice amount > = greater than tender amount then < subtract from tender > and show the change amount on receipt that need to give to student.
some schools gets the payment llike installment. so if student paid less then actual invoice amount then unpaid amount still shows on status as remaining unpaid amount when the student brings the money then the cashier reopen the bill and make payment.
if the student paid full amount at a time then the invoice suppose to show paid invoice.
please correct me if i have been wrong.
thanks.
Regard
Andrew
Andrew,
Yes, this sounds like what I had in mind. I will update you via a post in this thread once it is coded up.

Andrew, want to check out the changes made in the commit below(I would do a test
install of the cutting edge code), and let me know if this meets your needs. I think it now does what you want.
