  • Creating courses and classes

    Hi Elke,

Welcome to the forum...and the community : )

At the moment, Free Learning does not support attaching units to courses, you can only attach them to a department. The only integration with courses and classes exists at the Enrolment stage, where a student can opt to sign up for a unit with a specific class: this means that the teacher of that class becomes the mentor for that student.

I am working on a course structure for Free Learning, and hope to have it released in the next couple of weeks.

    Thanks,

    Ross

    Hi Roman,

That's what happens to your brain if you use Linux command line interface for too much of your youth ; )

  • Is Gibbon support multi-school environment?

Hi Bishnu, no, sadly not. We are focused on rebuilding the whole of Gibbon in such a way that will make this kind of change easier. As you can imagine, this is a huge job, and @sandra has put in a huge amount of effort over the past few versions. I can't say right now when this work will be done....but we are doing our best! Thanks for your patience and continued interest in Gibbon. Ross.

  • web service to register a user?

Hello, this is an interesting question. We don't normally advise hacking the Gibbon core, as your changes can get overwritten on update. However, you could add a new folder in the gibbon root with a name we've not used (e.g. webService), and attempt to build something in there. You'd want to password protect it somehow to avoid any old person creating an account. In terms of the code, check out the Application Form acceptance file in the Students module. Hope this is helpful : )

  • Track of sponsors of students

Hi Felipe, such a company listing would be available from the database table gibbonFinanceInvoicee, and you could use SELECT DISTINCT to avoid duplicates. Hope this helps! Ross.
