  • Basic Timetabling Of Classes

Do you have course & classes, with users in those classes? You can look at this under Admin > Timetable Admin. Let me know!

  • Using the Database on Multiple Computers

That is a huge question, and somewhat outside of the scope of this forum. However, the answer below might set you off in the right direction:
    1. Simple - purchase a hosting package with a host, such as Green Geeks, that offers Softaculous for simple Gibbon install. @jmsperu is setting up to offer hosting especially for Gibbon, so you might want to contact him.
    2. Harder - get a VPS, such as through Amazon Web Services EC2, and config your own LAMP stack.
    3. Harder Still - buy your own server hardware, install your own OS and then config your own LAMP stack.
Which one is right for you depends on your own technical experience (esp. with CLI on Linux), your appetite for learning and discomfort and your budget.

    Good luck!

  • LMS - Book-based Classess

OK, your requirements are very specific. If you look under Admin > Timetable Admin in the main menu, you can go to Manage Courses & Classes in the module menu. Here you can set up the various courses and classes that you need, and then under Course Enrolment by Class you can assign students and teachers to classes.

In terms of the content structure you are looking for, you could do aspects of this with the Planner (under Learn in the main menu), but you might be better off considering the Free Learning pedagogy, which Gibbon supports with an additional module.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

@sandra you are an open source legend! When the plugin is proven you should definitely share it to the Vanilla community.

I've installed and enabled the plugin, and can't find any settings. Do we now just sit back and watch spam recede into the distant past? Hope so ; )
