  • Hi Martin,

In your timetable, if you click on the name of a class (e.g. SP09.1), you'll see an option to jump through to Attendance. This is the same as going to People > Attendance > Attendance by Class through the main menu.

You can disable attendance taking for classes you don't want to take attendance for in Admin > Timetable Admin > Manage Courses & Classes. And, there is a host of useful Attendance settings in Admin > School Admin > Manage Attendance Settings.

    Cheers,

    Ross
  • "classes you don't want to take attendance for"

As in the school or just the tutor assigned to teach the class
  • OK, I'm getting there...

    See the image below

Where do I populate the tutor

Cant work out I thought I had already assigned a tutor for this group

  • Hi Martin,

For "classes you don't want to take attendance for", I meant you as in the school.

For your timetable questions, this is what we would call a teacher, not a tutor. You can assign this under Admin > Timetable Admin > Course Enrolment by Person, or Course Enrolment by Class.

    Cheers,

    Ross
  • Arr so what's the difference in Tutor and Teacher
  • Hi Ross

I'm sorry I cannot see how to add a tutor for the time slots on the timetable
  • 1) Go to Admin> Timetable Admin> Courses & Classes> Course Enrolment by Class

    2) Choose the class

    3) Select the teacher and assign it to the class as Teacher (Role)
  • Nope still not seeing it
  • A tutor is responsible for a form group, a teacher is responsible for an academic class.

Can you be more specific in terms of what you are not seeing, based on Roman's 3 steps above?
  • OK first point

Teachers follow predetermined guidelines for the expectations for their class and evaluate students on that basis, while tutors focus on students' individual academic needs and how to help them improve their skills in a specific subject.

So both teachers and tutors roles are interchangeable.both can also be responsible for a form group.

    Second point
Ross, I have sent you an email with admin login for my system along with the URL.so you can see for yourself.

    Third point
It has been said that a picture paints a thousand words or more (Fred R. Barnard)
Could you possibly draw a sketch of a representation of the way of a school is determined within the gibbon system so that I can translate into some understanding?

  • Hi Martin, I've responded to the email to check how you'd like to proceed. Cheers! Ross.
